SPARKS OF INSPIRATION

Marilyn paints in oils and acrylics. Her abstract style and intense hues reflect her free spirit and enthusiasm for life. She sees the world in vibrant colors and in her paintings she expresses the spontaneity of energy that appears all around us.

A BIT ABOUT MYSELF

Marilyn has held several solo exhibitions, including The University Of Florida in Gainesville, The Kotler Art Gallery of The John F Germany Public Library in Tampa, The Teco Public Art Gallery in Tampa

Marilyn studied Fine Art and Design at the Johannesburg School of Art and then at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. After emigrating to the USA she worked as an art consultant for a gallery in Manhattan while attending the New York School of Interior Design.

Early in her career, Marilyn was captivated by the school of abstract expressionism which has influenced her greatly. Marilyn moved to Tampa, FL in 2003 where the sun, sea, and atmosphere of Tampa Bay inspire and energize her.

Cityscapes In Virtual Reality: Marilyn was inspired by a trip to Chicago and the stunning architectural design that resonates throughout the city. The reflections and variations in the light present a constantly changing landscape. She distilled the complex building designs and perspectives with her abstract style.

Colour Motion and Design: Collisions of color energetically aligning in geometric order

Abstract Expressions: she imagines the explosive forces that were present at the beginning of time. Spontaneous surges flaring with color and purpose.

Street Art: Marilyn goes back to her roots in South Africa where raw emotions manifest in vivid color
